In order to adaptation the needs of economic and social development, China's railway transportation industry develop rapidly, due to the difference between electrified railway and traditional steam locomotives and diesel locomotive running rail, which is obtained through the external power supply and power traction power supply system electric locomotives railroad train, so, it having many advantages, like high speed, high transport capacity, low transportation costs, save energy, protect the environment, a high degree of safety and reliability and good working conditions, and so on. And in technically and economically area has significant advantages. So it is develop rapidly in recent years, and it is the main direction of development of railway transport modernization.With the large-scale construction of electrified railway, it also brings a lot of scientific, technical issues. Traction power supply system is an important part of the electrified railway traction power supply system, without it, it is impossible to ensure the normal operation of electrified railways. To ensure the safety and reliable operation of electrified railway traction power supply system, it is important to research the reliability. The purpose is to ensure under certain economic conditions, the electrified railway power supply system can move safely and reliable. Through this study, to identify the weaknesses in electrified railway traction power supply system, the system must be guide the electrified railway operation, repair and maintenance work to minimize failures and accidental loss.This paper firstly describes the background and significance of the reliability of electrified railway traction power supply system, analysis the domestic and electrified railway traction power supply system, according to compare and analysis the literature, used a variety of reliability analysis, the final choice of the existing literature using mature fault tree analysis of electrified railway traction power supply system reliability to analysis. Then, introduced the electrified railway traction power supply system basic theory, separately elaborated the electrified railway traction power supply system structure and the function of the electrified railway traction power supply system, In order to make a basis of railway traction power supply system reliability use The fault tree analysis method. Next introduced the reliability theory were elaborated generating system reliability, reliability theory concepts, and specifically describes the fault tree analysis method principles and procedures of the system reliability analysis tools for electrified railway traction power supply system, and provides the detailed analysis steps. Finally, use the fault tree analysis way, respectively analysis the reliability of traction network and qualitative analysis it, thereby respectively identify the cause of the traction substation network failures, then get the weaknesses if electrified railway traction power supply system, and separately from the perspective of improving traction substation reliability and traction network reliability, to proposed the further measures to improve electrified railway traction power supply system reliability.
