With the boom of infrastructure related projects, the occurrence frequency of the bulk transportation becomes higher and higher. But there seem to be an rather large space for the improvement of the bulk transportation in our country, taking account of the current legisla-tions and regulations and relevant equipment and technologies. Nowadays, to secure the process of this special kind of transportation, empirical evidences and theoretical derivation have been applied for most circumstances. What’s more, the focuses of many dependent re-searchs were on the passing capacity of the bulky cargoes. A virtual prototype simulation of bulk transportation vehicle is built in this paper and on its basis forms an overall considera-tion of road conditions, vehicle structures and cargo consolidation in order to analyze the factors that affect the reliability of the bulky cargo in the transportation process.First, this article enumerates the probable reliability risks that lies in the transportation process, and illustrates the factors that cause the risks. For those factors which are rather ev-ident this thesis provides the calculation of theoretical research to indicate the mechanism of the way they work. Accord ing to GB/T 4970-2009<Method of vehicle ride comfort test>, the reliability of the transportation process is judged by the acceleration root-mean-square values of bulky cargo.Second, this article studies the mechanism of how to construct a vehicle model in the ADAMS CAR module, containing the Hierarchical modeling method from templates to subsystems and then to assemblies, together with the communicators which are utilized as the transmitter of information between different vehicle templates. On its basis there comes to the construction of the complete model of the tractor whose parameters come from a fixed type of vehicle. In addition, in view of units connection structure of the cargo-bearing plat-form trailer, this research constructs a platform trailer with 3 trailer units. Then this thesis analyzes the data structure of the property files of roads models. Based on the necessity of this simulation, roads property files of different forms and roughness classes are generated, which will be used to simulate the most common circumstances in a bulk transportation.Last, employ the coupling system model of vehicle, bulky cargo and roads to carry out the dynamics simulation under conditions of different cargo weight, moving speed and road types. Acceleration in the transverse, longitudinal and vertical directions of the bulky cargoes are measured and analyzed to figure out the most apparent factor that affects the re-liability. And then launch a frequency analysis for that mentioned factor so the conclusion could be explained according to the structure of the vehicle. Then the conclusion would be testified in contrast to the power spectral density transmission of the acceleration factor of the cargo, which will guarantee a much higher reference value to the reliability of road bulk transportation process. Then the framework of this system is built, which is used to measure the critical influencing factor.In summary, the bulk transportation model constructed in this paper can launch simula-tions not only of different transportation processes, but of cargo safety under effect of vary-ing factors. So it can provide a valuable reference for the forthcoming regulations and pro-jects in Sichuan province.
