With the rapid development of the railway and the opportunity of development of Chinese railway, after introduction, digestion and absorption of high-speed motor car AC drive technology from Europe, the United States and Japan, development of new AC drive electric locomotive technology has become the needs of our country to the high-speed railway locomotive vehicle overloading the direction. And according to the characteristics of the railway transportation in China, the six axis high-speed overloading 7200 kW level speed 120 km/h AC drive electric locomotive, which is suitable for long distance and mass transit, has rapidly become key technology of the national railway development.Under such background, by technique digesting,absorbing and innovation on the basis of the introduced eight axis 9600 kw and six axis 9600 kw AC drive electric locomotives, the technology research of six axis 7200 kw AC drive electric locomotive bogie has been carried out. As major key component of locomotive,bogie is indispensable, directly affecting the locomotive running safety,and it’s important to the locomotive dynamics stability, stability and curve passing safety.The theoretical research, application and development of domestic and international Co locomotive bogie have been explained, and various types of Co locomotive bogie have been introduced. Based on railway development demands and wide application of AC drive technology on domestic electric locomotive, the research and development of six axis 7200kw AC drive electric locomotive bogie has been carried out.7200kw six-axis C0-C0 locomotive bogie is developed on the basis of bogie parameter optimization and parts structural analysis. The technology feature, structure type, static strength and fatigue strength of main bogie components have been discussed. Subsequently, the locomotive vehicle dynamics analysis and bogie technology parameter analysis have been performed. Line dynamic test of full-vehicle bogie carried out ultimately, results show that this bogie conforms to the need of railway transportation. The development of this bogie will make contributions to the accumulation of bogie locomotive vehicle technology and railway transportation in China,and achieve great economic and social benefits.
