| With the rapid development of the railway in China, traction power supply system has been changing with each passing day, and the research of the power quality is still a hot issue of the traction power supply system. Reactive power and harmonic, generated by electric locomotives, not only result in power factor of traction network decreasing and power energy increasing, but also pollute power system. The parallel capacitor compensation (PCC) is an important way to solve such a problem according to overseas practical experience. The performance of parallel capacitor compensation protection device determines the safe and reliable operation of the PCC device and the traction power supply system. Therefore, testing on the perfonnance of the protection device is necessary. Aiming at the protection device, building a simulation testing platform, which can be applied to conduct closed loop testing on different types of protection devices from different manufacturers, will contribute to improve the principles and algorithms of protection devices and shorten its research and development cycle.The filter component (FC),which consist of capacitor and reactor, and dynamic capacitor compensator of thyristor controlling the reactor type (TCR-SVC) are taken as examples in this paper and the working principles and computation method of the reactive power compensation capacity are studied respectively. Meanwhile, possible faults on compensation device are analyzed based on above discussion to come up with appropriate and effective protection scheme.The models of FC and TCR-SVC are built making use of the component library and are simulated to be correct based on RTDS. Furthermore, control circuit of the primary system is also designed to automatically change and control the types and location of faults and simulation is conducted followed by the study of the electrical change of faulted status and operation characteristics of protection function. And then, a simulation testing platform is established by designing the interface of testing. The closed-loop testing is done towards both traditional and digital protection devices, through which not only the performance of protection device, but also the performance of the test platform can be truly evaluated.Finally, script files in RUNTIME module of the simulation cases are written against the complexity of manual operation, to record the testing operation process of protection device in order to realize the automatic test... |
