In this paper,gather material about the feature of the axial section of road culverts steel bellows deformation characteristics at home and abroad.based on field trails,in order to solve the problem we encounter in highway engineering research about corrugated piped culvert.based on the result of deformation of the field test,take full advantage of the finite element software,through a large number of finite element modeling calculations,study the axial cross-section deformation and camber settings of the corrugated steel culvert.the main results are as follows:1.Through field trials to study the deformation of an axial section of culvert bellows, obtained deformation law of the culvert at different locations.(1)Both end portion of steel bellows culvert’s transverse and vertical deformation are minimized,form the end to the the shoulder of the traffic road,the deformation gradually increased.the deformation between the two shoulders is stabilized.(2)The vertical deformation of Corrugated Steel Culvert is greater than the lateral deformation.2.By the finite element software to analysis several factors affecting the deformation law and camber setting,the rules as follows:(1)The axial section lateral deformation of corrugated steel culvert pipe with filling height increases, and the increasing trend showing a linear trend.in 90°and 270°position the lateral deformation is maximum,the pipe and bottom of the tube is almost 0.the lateral deformation up and down is almost symmetric about the transverse diameter.(2)The vertical settlement of corrugated culvert pipe is bristling with height increases,also showed non-linear trends.the top of culvert pipe bellows settlement is largest,the bottom settlement is minimal.(3)The lateral deformation and vertical deformation values of bellows culvert is closely related to the type of back-fill material.the greater the elastic modulus of the material, the smaller the deformation of the bellows, and the degree of deformation between different materials is amazing. Deformation values is also about the size of the diameter, the diameter of the deformation values are not presented with non-linear trends.(4)The value of camber settings is filling as height increases,the growth of different materials in different speed.Camber settings under the same diameter is not present a positive correlation or negative correlation with the elastic modulus of the back-fill material.The result solve some problems about corrugated steel culvert applications during the current highway construction,has important theoretical and practical value, with a wide range of promotional prospects.
