CAD and CAE technology has brought changes in turn the world upside down for the automotive industry. Virtual prototype technology combines many of the latest technology and method, make the car to reduce product cost, reduce development cycles, improving enterprise efficiency, so the automobile enterprises have introduced advanced virtual prototype technology, in order to increase the competitiveness of enterprises.In recent years, the city to speed up the process, the increasing of garbage, garbage truck demand increases, but the research on the garbage truck in China lags behind other countries, so based on the actual situation of our country garbage truck R & D, based on virtual prototype technology, design research the garbage truck, has important significance.In this paper the pull arm garbage truck as the research object, the use of computer technology, the design and optimization of the pull arm. This paper consists of the following parts:Firstly introduces the important device of garbage truck-- pull arm, a concrete analysis of the working process of the pull arm is loading, unloading and loading, and expounds the types of the pull arm, through comparative analysis, choose the hook arm swing arm mechanism as the research object, the use of three-dimensional modeling software UG three dimensional modeling of arm pull hook arm swing.Then the three dimensional model into UG and assembled into ADAMS multibody dynamics analysis, the kinematics analysis of the movement interference, mutation and unstable phenomenon did not occur in the case, and that the unloading unloading process, according to the dynamic analysis of the force curve and the key part of the oil cylinder hinge point, as the strength of the analysis reference.Finally according to the dynamics analysis results using finite element method for strength analysis, obtains the stress and strain distribution, results show that the pull of the various parts of the arm strength and stiffness is less than the yield limit of the material, the pull arm to meet the requirement of strength design, through the finite element analysis found that the original hook arm unreasonable stress, using HyperMesh own topology optimization software of the hook arm topology optimization and after optimization of the hook arm strength analysis, the result showed that: the new hook arm by force distribution is more reasonable, and make its quality from the original 200 kg down to 180 kg, a 10% reduction, implements the lightweight design of the hook arm.In this paper, to optimize the design of the pull arm based on virtual prototype technology, improved the parameters of pull arm mechanism, improve the performance of garbage truck, garbage truck manufacturing enterprises to provide reference for the improvement of product performance, the enterprises in the stage of product development, the initial development period has a positive role.
