A Study On The Relationship Between Topography And Acient Village Layout In Huizhou

Since the industrial revolution, the rapid development of the city has brought a variety of problems. The lack of the destruction of the ecological environment and regional culture,will become a major loss in the history of human development. With more and more people begin to pay attention to and the global environmental protection, mining city landscape and regional culture will become one of our important mission in the future.This thesis mainly refers to the articles related to Huizhou ancient village and residential area. Through the research and visits to Hongcun,Xidi,Pingshan,Chenkan,Tangmo,Tangyue,Yuliang and Xiongcun village and the usage of topography and ecology, this thesis researches the topography affection in Huizhou village’s settlement and development and the measures of transforming and using about the topography. Based on this, it tries to classify and conclude Huizhou ancient village’s layout Characteristic in different environment of topography.This thesis firstly analyses the topography’s affection to Huizhou village’s location,layouts and the use of lands in the Subject of landscape architecture.Meanwhile,it researches our ancestors’ planning thoughts in the absense of modern planning methods.In this way,it helps Huizhou villages’protection and the development of Huizhou culture,also guides the modern living envirionment’s buliding and promotes social progress.There are more hills than plain in Huizhou area, which has complicated topography and abundant water resourses.The village is usually located between basins, which is bonded to the topography.In past,Huizhou ancient village is formed of the northern refuge form’s moving.Due to the safe conscious, most basin’s village’s layout is very compact.On the other hand,there are still many villages which are layed expot-orientedly.these villages is firmly related to the Huizhou business development and topography.From the viewpoint of Fengshui,topography is essential in Chinese ancient Fengshui in which the village’s construction and the landscape reaches an harmonious relationship in a high level. It’s location and layouts is based on "beyond hills,circled water, faced plain",which is defensive in safety and also save more lands.The ancient village of Huizhou is the ideal living environment which comes from the ancient people’s wisdom of using topography in the thoughts of "The harmony between man and nature"and "Comply with nature" in the absense of modern planning thinking. As the "architecture without architects", to study the topography and other factors and its layout has the important practical significance and theoretical value.
