The machining process of auto engine parts (cylinder block, cylinder head, crankshaft, camshaft, connecting rod and piston etc.), will inevitably produce burr. China has just enacted more stringent GB-V emission standard, as the country has put forward a higher demand on vehicle in energy saving and emission reduction, the car manufactures is working to improve engine performance, use more new technologies, such as the application of turbocharging and direct injection. These new technologies, especially direct injection technology, require that the chip residues after completion of the processing engine cylinder head must be lower. The engine internal cleanliness is one of the important indexes for evaluating the quality of car engine. Therefore, these tiny spines around the processing site have brought a wide range of adverse effects in manufacturing and using products. For example, leading to engine oil leakage and other issues directly affect the performance and service life of car engine. The engine cylinder head, for large size and shape of complicated processes, is the key of the engine components burring object. If not completely remove the burr, it will fall off in the vibratory environment of the engine, the harm it produces is far greater than the remaining tiny impurities. So, engine cylinder head burring technology effects to a new level.However, burring equipment automation is the trend of the technical field, and using industrial robot is one of the most important technical methods. At present, Application research of domestic industrial robots has achieved great progress in developing of handling, arc welding, spray painting, assembly, spot welding robot, and has been applied in production. Research on polishing, grinding robot has been carried out, however the robotic burring technology research is almost blank. And there are a large gap between China and foreign countries[1]. In the process of manufacture, burring process is an important part of manufacturing technology, the proportion of which accounts for machining work is considerable. In general, burring hours makes up about 5-10% of the total working hours, the cost is accounted for 10 ~40% of the manufacturing cost, precision parts burring cost as much as 50%.The article, based on the work of the robot, in order to brush for technology, for automobile engine cylinder head brush burring equipment, is working mainly from the several aspects:Firstly, research on the characteristics of cylinder head burr and the scheme for robotic burring, including the kinds and grades of burr, the generation mechanism of engine cylinder head burr, the burring parts of cylinder head and the demand of burring and the basic situation of robotic burring technology etc. On the basis of them, to understand the existing robot burring optional method and program, and to conduct schemes comparison etc.Secondly, designs and summaries of the robotic burring equipment with brushes, are including the form of the robotic burring equipment with brushes and the technical requirements of the robotic burring equipment etc.Thirdly, designs of the brushes, burring experiment bench and experiment of the burring process parameter, including the functional design of brushes, the experiment bench design based on demand and the structure scheme, important parts design of the experimental bench, statics analysis of the experimental bench based on demand, dynamic analysis of the experimental bench based on demand and experiment of the burring process parameter etc.Fourthly, research on the dynamic characteristics and burring trajectory of the robotic burring equipment, including to the initial dynamic characteristics analysis of the equipment, equipment after improving the structure of three jaws clamping and robotic burring trajectory planning etc.
