Shear wall structure has been widely used nowadays among high-rise residential buildings because of its resistance to lateral stiffness and high space utilization. In recent years, safety consciousness is getting stronger in human beings. What is more, the demand for seismic performance of high-rise residential structure is continuing increasing. Moreover, under the precondition of structral safty, save construction materials has good economic and environmental benefits, and it has been more and more important in structral design. Therefore, optimization of seismic performance in structural analysis in order to explore the material-saving designs means a lot in building engineering designs.This paper is combined with some relevant specifications and technical measures, based on the existing structure design method throughout different practical experience, summary of engineering analysis of high-rise residential shear wall structures (supper structures) optimization direction and the simplified contents include:(1) Summary of structural design and pratical experience of design and optimization key points in different stages such as solution design, preliminary design, and construction drawing.(2) Sensitive parameters for earthquake and material consumption based on seismic elastic response spectrum calculation method for structural analysis, and proposal for some adjustable parameters.(3)Based on rational contral of seismic performance of shear wall structures, four principles are put forward, which are "Wall limb should be arranged in the same axis so as to avoid dislocation arrangements", "Uniformly distribution to decrease torsion", "avoid short and ultra-long wall" , "L shape and T shape walls are prior instead of straight wall".(4)Analyze the coupling shear strength characteristics and failure pattern of the wall. Results show that the overall coefficient between 3.0~4.0 of shear wall can meet the requirements of the "coupling beam is strong while wall limbs is weak" in the meanwhile maintaining good energy dissipation capacity.(5) 24 shear wall residential buildings which have been built and put into use are statistical analyzed, and determine the 7 degree seismic fortification of high-rise shear wall structure as well as the relatively optimal material consumption and proportion. "Aspect ratio" is analyzed for the influence on the construction cost for the structure, and the related materials-saving design measurements are put forward.(6) Based on high-rise residential shear wall structure optimization and material-saving design, consumption of concrete and reinforcements after optimization decreases by 16.7% and 7.1%. Meanwhile, it demonstrates better seismic performance by elastic-plastic time history analysis of severe earthquakes.
