Studies On The Color Application In The Design Of Modern Courtyard

The courtyard, which was created through people’s activities, has now come into colorful forms after long-term development. Just as other buildings, the courtyard is also a result of the inte raction between m an and nature. Along with the cities’ accelerated process, th e rapid developm ent of social econ omy and the increasing standard of people’s living, people pay more attention to environmental and ecological problems, yearning much for the nature, be ing eager for a piece of green space o f their own, and doubtless among which, the courty ard is the m ost flexible, closed to people’s life. Therefore, the scientific and reasonable layout and the garden color have practical significance and the theoretical significance for the success of the courtyard design.This paper firstly sum marizes the connotation 、style and principle of the courtyard design, as well as the attribute of color and aesthetic principle of color design. Secondly, using questionnaire and m athematical statistics, the paper analyzes how much people know and understand the ga rden design, and their needs based on different ages and occupations. Finally, the paper analyzes the com parison and harmonization in the courtyard design, and how to use colors for various elem ents in the garden.The specific conclusions are drawn as follows:Firstly, through the analysis of the connotation、 the basic principle of the color, design style and principles of the courtyard design, attribute of color and character 、perception and the principle of aesthetics attribute of color are now clear enough to provide an effective basis for garden color environment planning and design theory.Secondly, some datum are obtained thr ough the questionnaire and on-the-spot investigation, and by using mathematical statistics analysis,the following conclusions is drawn:(1) The m ain function of m ost courtyards is for rest and entertaining guests;(2) Most people do not understand eno ugh about the garden color;(3) Many people think it is necessary to carry out plan ning and the design of the courtyard;(4) The vast majority of people pay more attention to the courtyard color;(5)More than half of people think it is very necessary to divide th e color design into zones in the courtyard. These findings provide colo r planning design of the courtyard with reliable basis which is people-oriented and according to the requirement.Thirdly, through the analysis of color contrast and harm ony application in m odern garden design and color application in vari ous elements in garden design, drawing the followings:(1) using the interaction variable monotone color contrast can be more abundant, which shows the color beauty tension m ore incisively;(2) color ha rmony can be used to buffer color contradiction, to coordinate oppo site relationship;(3) Based on the color language, all kinds of elements in the garden should be designed integrated according to the overall style and the overall dominant hue, focus on the overall dominant hue, start with the local color, which points out the direction for the modern garden color planning and design.
