At present, Zhoushan existing small inter-island traffic vessels is still dominated by diesel vessels. Diesel vessels will generate a lot of waste gas and loud noise, so it does not meet the requirements of environmental protection and energy saving.However, electric vessels’ s electric propulsion system uses battery powered and replenish their energy at dock or port, which completely abandon the traditional diesel power and avoiding the pollution to the marine environment form exhaust and noise generated by diesel.Then, the work efficiency greatly improves. With the development of high-energy battery and fast charging technology, modern electric vessels can achieve the same value of electric vehicles in short inter-island transportation. Batterys as a power source for propulsion technology of electric vessels in China has just started, and the efficiency of the motor controller is one of key properties of electric propulsion. As the permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) compares to other propulsion motor, its overall performance is very high, but currently it only applies to small power propulsion system.So the paper uses DC inter-island propulsion system of small vessels as the study object, and it mainly does rearch on the controller of PMSM.Firstly, the paper analyzes the vector control theory of PMSM, and it selects the dual-loop regulating’s PI control scheme, including a speed loop and a current loop. On the basis of the mathematical model, it focuses on the PMSM vector control mode of id =0,and elaborates the realization process of SVPWM.Secondly, hardware designs are based on the development platform of Altium Designer Winter 09; TI’s DSP chip TMS320F2812 is used as the key component to design PMSM controller hardware circuit of control board; Fuji’s power switching device IGBT module 2MBI200S-120 is used as the critical component to design PMSM controller hardware circuit of power board; Sailing’s battery 6-CQ(A)-225 is used as the single to design DC power supply system; In addition, the software design is based on development environment of CCS 3.3, and C language is used to compile the software of vector control system of PMSM.Lastly, to test whether this PMSM controller can adapt to the requirements of the control system or not, On the one hand, the paper builts vector control system of simulation model of PMSM based on Matlab/Simulink platform, and simulation resultsshow that the static and dynamic performance of the system are able to meet the requirements. On the other hand, corresponding PMSM controller device is designed, and the results further show that the controller can meet actual application requirements of propulsion electric motor for small inter-island vessels.
