The composite bucket foundation is the foundation of new offshore applicable,relative to other basic forms, the one-whole-step installation technology makes it hassuch as low price, easy installation, recycling, easy to transport, etc., has a very broadspace for development.The substantive issues of the composite bucket foundation bearing capacity is theinteraction effect between the bucket and soil.It includes the horizontal forces and theverital pressure.The paper describes the calculation formula applied to the bearingcapacity of various working conditions of the composite bucket foundation.The paperbrings the research methods of p-y curves for the pile and bucket.ABAQUS is a piece of software that is most useful especially the simulation ofnonlinear problems.ABAQUS secondary development can well expand thefunctionality of the software,so that it may be better for different professional users touse.Select a constitutive model and choose the right algorithmic method is the coreissues for developing UMAT subroutine.In this article,based on the secondarydevelopment of UMAT,the model which fit the Mohr-Coulomb criteria wasestablished.The paper analyzes the feasibility of using ABAQUS software to analyze thebearing capacity of composite bucket foundation.In the end,it compare the results offinite element to tradition formulae,and offer some advices on the design of compositebucket foundation.
