In recent years, many cities are beginning to use a rubber dam to create awaterfront landscape, it has played a good microclimate and improve the livingenvironment effects. Shenmu, from the beginning of2008, has been creating awaterfront landscape along the urban section of railing Kuye River water, to improvethe ecological environment and living environment.Combined with previous research papers, the theoretical knowledge of rubber damis discussed, the development of the rubber dam in domestic is systematic introducedand the advantages of the rubber dam and prospects are explained. Based on the rubberdam of Shenmu, through the investigation and study of basin hydrological, meteorological and geological conditions, the paper predicts and evaluates a series ofengineering geological problems in project area of rubber dam after the rubber dam forwater storage, such as leakage, slope stability, immersion, siltation, flood carryingcapacity and water sources. Combined with the actual situation of the project area, layout plan of the rubber dam, rubber dam type selection, red sand traps and sand gatelayout and selection, dam bag inflated and anchored forms of media selection schemecomparison are conducted. based on comparison program, the paper preliminarilydesigns the overall layout and major rubber dam structures, including the rubber damconstruction, sand washing tank, sand gate, charge exhaust equipment, etc.The research results may provide a theoretical support to the engineering feasibilitystudy of Kuye River Rubber Dam, it also can be used as construction decision-makingbasis, it has certain reference value and guiding significance to the Kuye River Basinand the cold north building rubber dam project.
