With the increase in the proportion of wind power capacity, the impact ofwind power grid security and stability of Shanghai power grid becomesclear.Shanghai power grid is the largest urban power network in China, and itsload characteristics, power characteristics and network structure are unique.Especially, in the China’s12th Five-Year Plan, with the UHV access,Shanghai power grid will be a large AC and DC systems with UHV AC,500kV main ring network and4large capacity DC back. In this particulargrid conditions, the stability of large-scale wind power on the grid securityaccess will be different.This paper analyzes the operating characteristics of large-scale wind farmin Shanghai and the unique system characteristics of Shanghai power grid,and we study the impact of large-scale wind power access to the securityand stability of Shanghai power grid. The research shows that theanti-peaking characteristics of the wind farm is more obvious in Shanghai,because of high peak-valley difference, high proportion of foreign power,pressure of electric peak shaving, we must control the capacity of windpower access to Shanghai power grid. It has been calculated wind capacityof about5000MW can be accepted by Shanghai power grid in2020. Mostwind farms in Shanghai are in the islands or coastal, and grid in these areais always poor. It’s found if the capacity of wind farm is suitable, the localpower supply capacity of regional power grid will be enhanced, and thevoltage level and the direction of tide of local grid will be optimized. Inanalyzing the impact of large-scale wind farms to the grid equency, we select the key node to carry out stability calculations, it’s found, with theincrease of wind power access size, maximum power generator systemmonitoring angle difference gradually increased, the peak moment offailure is also growing larger than the difference between a stable situation,the generator may very likely be unstable operation.
