As a clean, efficient, high-quality energy, gas now occupies a pivotal position in theurban industrial production and living, therefore, China’s city gas industry is in a boom stage.However, the characteristics of the gas itself is toxic, flammable, explosive, coupled with thecity gas pipeline networks generally laid in the densely populated area of economicconcentration, once the pipeline ruptured, a gas leakage will cause poisoning, fires andexplosions, which will make a significant losses to the lives and property of the city residentsand also cause far-reaching adverse impact on the community. Therefore, it’s essential tomake the risk management of city gas pipeline network, transform the risk managementmodel for city gas pipeline network from the after management model to the priormanagement model, develop appropriate the prevention, maintenance and managementmeasures to improve the security of the city gas pipeline network.Risk management contains risk analysis, risk assessment and risk control. In this paper,the fault tree is used to identify the risk factors of Dongying city gas pipeline network andestablish a risk evaluation index system. On this basis, the pipeline index score is used tomake an risk assessment, this approach takes into account the credibility of its conclusionsonce the gas leakage on the surrounding environment and the personnel. Finally, coupled withthe conclusions of the risk assessment and the problem of Dongying city gas pipeline network,this paper aims at proposing the risk management measures targeted at improving theDongying city gas pipeline network’s security and reliability.
