The paper use the H425helicopter as a platform, researches the key technologiesof the helicopter lightning zoning, the direct and indirect effect of lightning protection.Authentication protection technology by the simulation analysis and lightningexperiment. Get the project methods and protective measures for specific components.The article first introduces the basic principles of lightning, including lightningformation, classification and characteristics. Analysis impacts of different lightningand lightning different processes to the whole helicopter and helicopter’s structure andsystems. Then according to the domestic and international airworthiness regulations,laws and lightning manuals related to aircraft and other related content, research thekey technologies of the helicopter lightning protection. Research including helicoptersdefines lightning strike zones method, the protection technology for lightning directeffect, protection technology for lightning indirect effects and composite materialsprotection technology. Lightning zoning is the basis of this study, in order to ensurethe accuracy and reliability of the zoning, using computer simulation methods andscale model laboratory methods. The direct effect of protection is the focus of thisstudy, research include of rotor system, radome system and other critical systems.Indirect effects study provide the actual transient levels. Test or simulation methodscan be only provide a part of the actual situation, so the indirect effect of protection isthe difficulty of this study. Research indirect effects protection for typical electronicequipment bay, given the actual transient level.This study reference a large number of domestic and foreign standards andrequirements,also includes advanced experience from the same industry. Research onkey technology of helicopter lightning protection, chose not only the high recognitionof laboratory test methods, but also an advanced electromagnetic simulation methods.The results can be directly applied to protective design for critical components ofhelicopter, research methods and means provides valuable experience to lightningprotection design for new aircraft models.
