| In recent years, large-scale urban metro construction has beendeveloped quickly in many big and medium-sized cities. However themodern cities are full of high-rise buildings, and the deep excavationprojects of the subway stations will influence the settlement of adjacentbuildings inevitably. Therefore, it is important to analyze the influenceof deep excavation construction on the settlement of adjacentbuildings. The settlements of a historic building, the former residence of LiuRangong, were monitored during the deep excavation constructionprocesses of the subway station of Section17, Tianjin Metro Line2.The settlement data of the building were collected by systematicengineering monitoring methods at every stage of the deep excavationconstruction. Combining with the working condition of each stage, theconstruction process which can lead to the largest ground settlement ofbuilding was found through the organization and analysis of themonitoring data. Some conclusions can be derived from the analysis results, asdescribed below. The settlement of the building was caused by the rapid water leveldropping during the early stage of the deep excavation construction. However, in the later stages of the excavation, the deformation ofretaining structure and other construction procedures on theconstruction site were the main reasons that induced the settlement, such as the earth excavation and so on. These factors also could resultin subsequent settlement of surrounding soil and adjacent buildings. |
