In CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer/Plastic) reinforcing method, one ormore layers of carbon fiber sheet is pasted to concrete member in or vertical to the axialdirection by Epoxy, using CFRP instead of steel in the original concrete member to bearload, forming a new stress system. With CFRP working together with the originalstructure member, the original structure’s structural tensile, shear and crack resistance, effectively improved the ductility and seismic performance is improved. Thus reachedpurpose of reinforcing concrete structures.First of all, the paper discusses the background of CFRP reinforced concretestructure, the research actuality. Moreover, the fundamental principles and computationmethod of strengthen. Then select the appropriate constitutive relation of concrete, steel, and CFRP. Finally, according to the requirements of the new specification, a reinforcingdesigning scheme is given based on a second kindergarten which designed andconstructed at2005.With an engineering example, analyzing before and after the seismic performance ofreinforced concrete structure by elastic-plastic static and dynamic elastic-plastic timehistory analysis on Perform-3D finite element analysis software. In order to confirm itsresults correctness and usability, using the values calculated by the applicable codes andthe result of calculation by SAP2000software as control groups. Result shows that thebearing capacity of the construction members improved after reinforcement under gravityload; structure of initial elastic stiffness. After strengthening with CFRP, the structuralinitial elastic stiffness changes a little; the range of the increased ductility apparentlyhigher than the improvement of ultimate bearing capacity; the top displacement and inter-story drift all show a trend of decrease.
