The wind knife is the important equipment which used in current products deepprocessing of finishing and plays a decisive role. The wind knife play a vary improtantrole in the field of glass, packaging and paper print. This paper focus on the design andoptimization of1500type wind knife products (common and high speed type).First of all, the structure of wind knife is discussed in this paper, by absorbingdomestic and foreign various types of air knife design advantages, determine the optimalstructure of air knife for cylinder shape ultimately. The design adopts two levels cavity,three levels structure, and the design have longer guide area in front of the outlet toguarantee the stability of outlet wind flow evenly. In this paper, the wind knife’s keydimensions are designed and calculated. Bluid two different types of wind knife’s modeland gas model by Pro-E, and then the gas mesh model are made by Hypermesh software.Considering the actual working condition of wind knife, each boundary conditions aresimplified properly. Then using fluid dynamics software Fluent to compute two kinds of1500type of wind knifes’ internal pressure and distribution of flow field. According to theresults of the finite element analysis, air flows into the wind knife, internal wind chamberwill produces high-pressure zone inside the cavity. Because of the uneven pressure and airvelocity, and high-pressure zone flow will be slightly bigger than the low-pressure regionat the outlet. So air flow is uneven in outlet. That can effectively reduce the air knife’soutlet uneven problem by adjustment rectifier slot size and reduce the high-pressure zonerectification slot size, increase the low-pressure zone rectification slot size reasonably.The fourth chapter of this paper using Ansys-DesignXplorer software optimize thewind knife structure. On the basis of the existing design model, by determining theoptimization of regional, disturbance variables and related parameters, define the outlet’shomogeneousness as the optimized target. Get the more reasonable rectification slotstructure and size. It prove that the results of optimization design is better than the originaldesign scheme by numerical simulation eventually.
