It is an effective measure to install a leakage circuit breaker preventing physical shockin low-voltage distribution system. When there is personal electric shock or circuit leakagecurrent exceeding the setting value, the leakage circuit breaker can cut off power supply ina very short period of time automatically. Internal thermal trip of circuit breaker iscontrolled by temperature, while most of domestic earth leakage circuit breakers areelectronic, and the reliability of electronic components is affected greatly by temperature.Therefore, thermal analysis of leakage circuit breakers, for safe and reliable operation of thecircuit breaker, has an important significance.Based on the analysis of leakage circuit breakers, thermal analysis models, includingbimetal, conductive part and breaker of the earth leakage circuit breaker, are established.Considering internal heat conduction and convection cooling of the outer surface in leakagecircuit breaker, it needs impose reasonable loads and boundary conditions on the solidmodel using ANSYS thermal analysis module, and get temperature and displacement mapsby simulating to bimetal at different current excitations. The analysis was made on thetemperature distribution of internal conductive part and breaker of earth leakage circuitbreaker at different ambient temperatures. At last, it needs to analyze that the resultingtemperature of the breaker impacts on the electronic components of leakage module.
