The article takes the Marshall asphalt mixture design method,based on the analysis ofphysical and chemical properties of raw materials, uses the limestone as aggregate,and theordinary asphalt as binder,do with the roadworthiness experiment of this kind SMA asphaltconcrete mixture, from the high temperature stability and water stability of the mixture tostart,then makes the analysis of the relationship between properties of limestone andmaterial conventional asphalt itself and the performance of asphalt mixture,and exploresthe optimum amount of each component in this mixture,and through the experimentalstudy ofthe road performance of both basalt ordinary asphalt SMA and limestone modifiedasphalt SMA,this paper analyses the different performance difference of the two kinds ofSMA made of different aggregate and binder,do the research of the possibility to make theSMA asphalt concrete mixturewith the low-cost limestone and theconventional asphalt,anddevelopedthe technical specifications and technical guidance.Through the kenpaveorthogonal test, this paper analyses the relationship and impact between material indexsand pavement mechanical indexs, and puts forward the limestone and ordinary asphaltSMA pavement typical structure that is suitable for ordinary highways, providesatheoretical basis for the actual construction.At the same time, through the test road’s pavingand follow-up observations,this article explores SMA asphalt concrete mixture used forordinary road’s large and medium repair about the feasibility,construction techniques andcorresponding technical indicators,which is trying to promote the area of SMA asphaltconcrete mixture road structures,which is made of limestone and the conventionalasphalt,and to improve the main highway road performance level.Through the research of this study, we can reduce the cost of SMA asphalt concretemixture significantly,the technology reach is necessary on the two sides of economy andtechnology,not only it reduces the project cost, but also make a consequent for looking forthe alternative materials,getting rid of the limitations of practical applications of the SMAWith excellent performance,conduciving to promoting the use of SMA mixture,so it has abroad applications prospects.
