In this paper, some research work were done about a modern gasturbine overall performance calculation and derivation optimization. It isdiscussed in detail of derivation general idea, the derivative gas turbinecharacteristic calculation, components match and overall performanceoptimization. Combined with pre-research topics of gas turbine for ship andgenerator, a software that can calculate turbine characteristic wereprogrammed. The accuracy and effect of this software are proved by threegas turbine and peer experts recognized it.Derivation of compressor use the following methods. The threemethods based on similarity theory were derived, they are modification,adding or subtracting stage and the combination of modification and addingor subtracting stage. A detailed theoretical derivation and calculation werecarried out. The modified compressor is obtained and provided to optimizeoverall performance.In the derived turbine, It is researched deeply how calculates overallperformance with the working condition changing at the condition of theturbine variable geometry and large amount of cooling air. It is establishedof flow model and loss model which is suitable for non-cooling or coolingderived turbine at subcritical or supercritical conditions. A visual softwarewere designed and programmed that can calculate derived turbineperformance. The software interface is the popular and easy operation. Aneasy access can be provided to the relevant professional designers to getderived turbine characteristics at different working conditions for the overallperformance analysis. In the overall performance optimization analysis, based on the knowncharacteristics of derived components, equivalent flow theory and BFGSoptimization theory is used to calculate the overall performance of thederived gas turbine; Meanwhile, it is to find the optimal performance byadjusting some geometric parameters of the components. In this paper, it isto adjust the geometric parameters of turbine (variable turbine geometry) toobtain optimal performance.
