In recent years, with the rapid development of high-speed rail system, theconstruction of high-speed railways has led to the development of urban high-speedrailway station areas. While contributing to the change of urban space pattern andland using structure, it has also raised new deliberation on the problems in the publicspace construction in high-speed rail station areas. By looking closely into the currentcondition of public space construction in high-speed railway station area, we may finda range of planning and design problems such as unbalanced spatial scale,unreasonable traffic organization, lacking of regional character and humanized detaildesign. With people pursing of the higher quality life, public space planning anddesign quality will attract more attention. Meanwhile, the development of high-speedrailway raises new demands for the public space construction. Thus, this research is ofgreat realistic and theoretical meaning.This paper takes the public space in high-speed railway station area as researchobject, striving to enrich and deepen the research in high-speed railway station areas,improving the planning and design theory system in these areas. Firstly, the writeranalyzes the related concepts of public space and high-speed railway station area, anddefines the high-speed railway station area public space. By carrying a deep researchon some foreign cases, this paper summarizes the construction experience ofhigh-speed railway station area public space, and its enlightenment to our country.This paper conducts a segmentation of public space, namely, square public space,green public space, transportation public space and waterfront public space, elaborateson the important property, composing elements and design key points of public spacerespectively. Based on the theory research, by the survey of public spaces of TianjinWest station area, this paper demonstrates a peculiar analysis on the performance ofpublic spaces, making a summary of the problems existing in the function layout,traffic organization and public service aspects. Then proposes the strategies forimproving the public spaces in Tianjin West station area. At last, this paper proposesgenerally applicable planning and design strategies for the high-speed railway stationarea public space, which includes policy guidance, space organization, place-makingand disaster-preventing, and puts forward design strategies for each kind of public space respectively. This paper emphasizes the scientificity and practicability of theresearch, so as to provide helpful and referable strategy methods to the construction ofhigh-speed railway station area public spaces in our country. |
