The development of modern harbor is taking new trends of deep construction and soft foundation,and the harbor buildings are facing harder natural conditions, such as deep water, high wave, and softfoundation etc., especially foundation mainly composed of silt soil or with dynamic softeningcharacteristics. In such conditions, the buildings above will have series of problems in stability andsettlement deformation, and the misconduct will influence engineering quality and service function.Frame-fixed row-pattern pile wharf structure, a new structure type, is suitable for soft foundation.The structure, similar to sheet pile structure in force, combines the advantages of high pile and gravitystructure. Moreover, it draws successful lessons from covered sheet pile, inserted bucket structure andlattice steel pile in construction. The innovations of the structure are apparent, such as easily driven intoeffective bearing stratum for enough depth to bear external force and integrated into a whole by a frame.This method ensures the frontal and posterior row-pattern piles stressed uniformly by pull rod toameliorate lateral force condition of the structure. In this paper, FE software ABAQUS was adopted tostudy the force and stability of frame-fixed row-pattern pile wharf structure, based on the backgroundof building material wharf of Tianjin port and channel engineering company. A calculation method wasconcluded to guide engineering design and construction.Firstly, FE software ABAQUS was applied to simulate the engineering scale of frame-fixedrow-pattern pile wharf structure. The structure stability was studied in the most dangerous conditions ofmooring force plus heaped loads by using FE strength reduction method. Simulation calculation wasconducted with plate and shell element to get the structure internal force, like moment and shear force.Besides, simulation analysis of other potential problems was made.Then, width and embedded depth of the structure was optimized in practical engineeringconditions. Stability, internal force and project cost were compared in different combinations. And thedesign dimension with the lowest cost was the optimal one under the premise of safety.Finally, simplified calculation method of the structure was concluded based on the optimizedstructure size, in reference to the design code of sheet pile wharf. The simplified method was modifiedby comparing the FE results and simplified calculation method to adapt to frame-fixed row-pattern pilewharf structure.In summary, the stability and internal force of the frame-fixed row-pattern pile wharf structurewas studied. And the structure scale was optimized based on practical engineering. Moreover, thesimplified calculation method will make a great difference in promotion of the frame-fixed row-patternpile wharf structure。...
