Excavation Engineering is an underground space below the surface and whosesupporting system. And the Retaining and Protecting for Foundation Excavation canguarantee the smooth progress of the excavation and foundation construction and maintain thesafety of the pit surrounding environment. The Retaining and Protecting for FoundationExcavation is not only an ancient tradition topic in foundation excavation and undergroundconstruction but also a comprehensive geotechnical engineering problem. It is related to thetypical strength problem of soil mechanics, deformation and the joint action of soil andsupporting system.In this paper, Hangzhou East Railway Station East Plaza excavation engineering projectis used as an example. From the technical conditions, program selection, implementationprocess, inspection and other aspects, further understanding of the mechanism and scope ofaction of soil nails in the midst of silt, clayey soil, sand, and miscellaneous will be talked.Furthermore, the SMW method will be used in this example. This way you can developscientific and rational construction technology, and control the implementation process of thecomposite soil nailing applications of information technology, which is conducive to thepromotion and guidance of the development of the process. The special problems of soil nailconstruction and proposed solution and programs will be analyzed in order to achieve thequality objectives and meet the security requirements of the design and construction.The supporting system for Hangzhou East Railway Station East Square excavationengineering is very complex, which has large area, depth and complicated underground soilconditions. And there is a river in the pit east and south, which will bring trouble toconstriction. Projects similar to the East Plaza project have already existed but are notcommon in our country.
