Communication Manager responsible for SubstationAutomation System tointerconnect between different communication networks and to switch between differentcommunication protocols, to solve the substation automation internal systeminteroperability issues, to build a substation automation system with a reliable, open,high-speed performance of the communications network, the communications hub of themain station substation monitoring, remote scheduling and intelligent electronic devices, itis an important equipment in the power systems. Communication protocol conversion is themost important feature of the communication manager. The article studied theEthernet-based protocols104used by dispatch center and103protocol for use of protectiveequipment,and achieve conversion between101,103,104, CDT and MODBUS,etc.internalcommunication manager.Based on researching a lot of reference,this paper analyzed the functionality andperformance of the communication manager and studied the design requirements forhardware and software of communication manager. Based on the STM32platform andusing embedded real-time operating system μC/OS-II. The article has designed acommunication manager that achieves Heterogeneous network interconnection by multiplecommunication protocols and interfaces. The features of communication manager is smallsize, low price, reliable performance, fast processing a large number of real-timeinformation. This communication manager can support101/103/104/CDT/MODBUScommunication protocols, increase other communication protocols according to the site,communication medium can useRS-485/232serial communication bus and Ethernet-basedTCP/IP protocol, configure parameters via WEB browser, and monitor the real-timeoperating state of the system.Based on this program, communication manager with a good real-time performance,efficiency,scalability and reliability, and field tests have been passed and put into operation,testing and operation results show that the device has a good price, can meet the technicalrequirements of the project site, and greatly improve the overall performance of the internalcommunications in the substation automation system. |
