Research On Residential Building Heating Energy Audit Based On Energy Consumption Simulations

The development of Energy Service Companies is significant for energy-saving.However, traditional methods of energy auditing cannot meet the demands to predictheating load in buildings. This paper applies energy consumption simulation to energyauditing and predicts heating energy consumption of residential buildings.This paper compares several building performance simulation software, andchooses DeST-h software as the heating energy consumption simulation tool, due to itshigh calculation accuracy, convenient operation and dedication to residential buildings.Simulated heating consumption values by DeST-h software are compared withmeasured values at a residential community in Beijing. Reasons causing the deviationbetween measured values are discussed. This research shows that indoor ventilation hasa significant impact on heating energy consumption. Therefore, to accurately predictheating consumption using DeST-h, it is very important to set up ventilation frequencyaccording to the customized settings.Based on energy consumption simulation, this paper analyzes factors of heatingenergy consumption of residential buildings, and establishes a linear relationshipbetween influence factors and energy consumption of heating. Multiple linearregression model is applied to generate a predictive regression formula for heatingenergy consumption of residential buildings. Which fit very well. In addition, calculatedresults of this formula show deviation errors within10%with measured heatingconsumption values at multiple residential communities. This formula is suitable forresidential buildings in different types and areas, and it is not limited by lack of designinformation. This formula and DeST-h simulation are both proved to be practical andeffective prediction methods of heating energy consumption. During energy auditing,energy Service Companies is able to choose appropriate methods according to thedesign information available.
