More than30years of reform and opening up, China’s economic developmenthas made remarkable achievements. Facing current world economy profoundadjustment opportunities, Chairman Xi Jinping continues to emphasize "equalattention has been attached to improving material civilization and socialist culture andethnics". Under the policy of promoting socialist culture, the country launched atheater building climax. Market booming makes the stage machinery industrydeveloped rapidly. Stage machinery products upgrading simplifies the stage spacedesign, but it also presents different from the traditional installation requirements.On the contrary, China has not yet performed on stage technology designprofessional qualification. Stage space design research develops slowly, and does notmake the appropriate adjustments according to the market development. There aresome problems: proscenium size and stage area expand without explicit requirementssupport; grid and chain beam are forgotten in some projects because of unclear designdivision; stage space design optimized for the new stage machinery is not ideal; stagedecoration details are not taken seriously. Compared with foreign counterparts, ourresearchers and engineers should devote more in order to make stage technologydesign and architectural design produce a good interaction.Broadly used proscenium stage is the main object of this paper. It will proposethe basic principles of stage space design by analyzing the macro and micro inpactfactors and then put forward optimized design countermeasures.Stage machinery has a large impact on the stage space design, especially ondetails.The main stage area is performance area plus stage machinery installation space.Bay area and backstage area are greatly influenced by stage wagon and revolvingstage wagon. Area reduction of bay area and backstage will make stage neighboringroom design become very simple. Main elevating stage and orchestra lift products arerelatively mature; understage must be designed to meet the needs of its installation.Hoist position is an important design factors. Double-layer grid gradually replaces thetraditional single-layer one. Rational use different grid chain beams and roof structureconnections can reduce the difficulty of the main structure design. Performanceequipments need great power supply, near the engine room can save energy. Miniaturization of stage machinery control equipment makes its place become moreflexible.In the final chapter of the article, two examples are used to analyze largemultifunction theater and small theater stage design. The purpose of this research is tobuild the ideal theater and stage.
