Distracted driving is one of the important factors that threaten traffic safety. Many factors cause driver distraction, and its nature is that the factors produce mentalworkload which affects driving motion and then results in changes in driving behavior. For the changes of driving behavior, the most intuitional performance is the variationof execution process of driving behavior, which is composed by driving motion. Therefore, starting with driving motion, it is necessary to study on the quantitativeanalysis of motion for execution process under different degrees of mental workload.Firstly,on the basis of reviewing the research of driving behavior, the paperstudied on the execution process, including the basis, methods and contents ofresearch, which provided theoretical basis for this paper. Secondly, the paper selecteda suitable driving motion capture according to the specificity of the research ondriving motion. According to the aim of experiment, the different degrees of mentalworkload were designed and the driving motion acquisition was completed. Finally, after preprocessing motion data, the paper analyzed the data from two aspects: motionparameter and motion cooperation, and realized to explore the effect of mentalworkload on the motion of execution process quantificationally. For motion parameteranalysis, there were four methods: time analysis, volatility analysis, dynamic timewarping analysis and frequency domain analysis. Through the four methods, the paperresearched the effect of mental workload on the time of execution process, the rangeof motion change, the difference and continuity of motion. For motion cooperationanalysis, there were two ways included: motion time and sequence analysis andmotion composition analysis. By these two ways, the paper explores the influence ofmental workload on the order, duration, type and number of driving motion.Through this research, it can not only enrich the research methods of drivingbehavior, which has a certain theoretical significance for comprehensive research ondriving behavior, but also establish the method of analyzing driving motion, whichhas some role in guiding the future research on execution process.
