Vibration and noises can do harm to the precision of equipment and the health of human, so the technique of reduction of vibration and noises has been developed rapidly. Shock absorber is a elastic and supporting damper, which has been applied widely in vibration and noises isolation. In this study, metal-elastomer composite shock absorber was designed and studied, in which annulus spring was made for metal damper and polyurethane with NDI was used for inner core. The shock absorber had the characteristic of high strength and reversion rapidly, which can be used for reduction of impact force in the conditions of high frequent and strong vibration. Main research consists of:(1) Polyurethane foam and elastomer with polybutylene adipate and1,5-naphthalene-diisocyanate was prepared. Synthesis technics were optimized, synthesis time of prepolymer was30min, dehydration of polyester was135℃, foamed temperature was70℃.(2) The prescription, including of molecular weight of polyester, ratio of polyester and polyether, kind of isocyanate and chain extenders, dosage of vesicant, emulsifier and silicone oil, was optimized. The result showed that molecular weight of polyester was 2000, R was1.2, dosage of vesicant was3-4.(3) Mechanics performance, heat resistance, oil resistance, aging resistance and dynamic mechanics performance were reviewed, the result indicated that polyurethane with NDI had excellent performance and satisfied the design request.(4) According of the fact request, annulus spring, polyurethane column and shock absorber were designed and tested, and the result indicated that the shock absorber can endure high load, the distortion can be reverted rapidly.
