In recent decades, as one of the hallmarks of modern civilization, large-span spatialstructures are being increasingly and widely used in building stadiums, terminals, exhibitionhalls, large and medium-sized passenger railway station waiting rooms, no station pillarawnings, bridges and high-rise building structures and other public buildings. The span spatialstructure itself is characterized by large span, small stiffness, and sensitivity to earthquakes, which, different from the small span construction, requires special seismic response analysis,so it is particularly important to research on the seismic response of large span structure.Based on a reasonable ground motion simulation, this paper makes a multi-dimensionalseismic response analysis on the large-span space curved tube truss roof structure of anexhibition center in Lanzhou, analyzing respectively the influence of the traveling wave effectof spatial effects as well as the combined effects of partial coherence effects on the seismicresponse of the truss structure; besides, the difference between the structural responses undersingle and multi-dimensional earthquake excitation is also analyzed. The main contents of thispaper include the following aspects:(1) Briefly introducing the home and abroad literature on earthquake response oflarge-span spatial structures; summarizing and analyzing the current development in thisfield;(2) Studying the advantages and disadvantages of three main methods of analyzing theseismic response of large span structures; briefly introducing related theories on large-spanstructure modal analysis and the deviation process and the function mechanism ofmulti-dimensional input ground motion, providing a theoretical basis for subsequentlarge-span tube truss structure seismic response analysis;(3) Not only researching about the theory and parameter values of artificial randomearthquake ground motion models and different coherent power spectral density functionmodel, but also introducing the adjustment method of the trigonometric series of groundmotion synthesis process and regulatory requirements; Using mathematical softwareMATLAB, based on triangle series method, synthetically complying the non-stationary spacechanging seismic curve by applying Hao coherence function models and the power densityfunction model proposed by Du Xiuli and Chen Houqun; The artificial ground motions takeinto account of the traveling wave effect, some coherent effects and portfolio effects;(4) Adopting the steel-space structure design software3D3S11.0developed by TongjiUniversity to design large-span space curved tube truss structure model to meet regulatoryrequirements; and then using the finite element analysis software ANSYS10.0to establishstructural finite element model, making a modal analysis of the structural model and obtainingthe self-vibration characteristics of large-span space truss curved tubes; (5) Employing large-scale finite element analysis software ANSYS10.0to maketime-history analysis of large-span roof truss tube surface with synthetic ground motion timehistory curves; studying the traveling wave effect, the combined effects of partial coherenceeffects and long-span structures impact, indicating that the traveling wave effect, thecombined effects of partial coherence effects have significantly impact on long-span spacecurved tube truss structure, thus consideration should be made when analyzing the seismicresponse of large span structures. Besides, it is discovered that there is a structural responsedifference between the one-dimensional and multi-dimensional seismic excitation, withmulti-dimensional ground motion excitation impacts more significantly on the structure; thusconducting anti-seismic analysis of long-span structures, not only the spatial effect, but alsothe impact of multi-dimensional sground motion incentives should be taken intoconsideration.
