Across-wind load characteristic and wind induced vibration effect were very complicatedand across-wind load often became control load of high-rise building. Across-wind loadcharacteristic and wind induced vibration effect were researched by the calculation methodsof wind load specification and wind tunnel test. The affect of parameters to across-wind loadswere analyzed, the differences of Chinese, Japanese and Australian wind load codescalculation methods were reserached, Across-wind effect of single and group high-risebuildings were researched by wind tunnel test, Pseudo-excitation method was introduced intothe analysis of across-wind vibration response. The main work as follows:(1) The Influence rule of parameters to across-wind loads were analyzed, the differencesof Chinese, Japanese and Australian codes wind load calculation methods were reserached.Based on the calculation methods of wind load formulated in the “Load Code for the Designof Building Structures”(GB50009-2012). a series of influence factors, such as height-widthratio, width-thickness ratio, structural periods, damping ratio and wind pressure of wind-loads,across-wind structural responses of tall buildings were investigated in detail. The ratiosbetween across-wind load and along-wind load of tall buildings with rectangular and roundshapes, and rectangular tall buildings with chamfered and concave corners in differentanalysis cases were also focused. Based on the wind loads calculation methods of Chinese,Japanese and Australian codes, the along and cross wind loads of different height tallbuildings were analyzed, meanwhile the results were compared. Then the wind loads andwind-induced responses of a practical engineering were calculated by Chinese and Japanesecodes and the results were compared with wind tunnel test. The differences and the causes ofthe wind loads calculated by three countries codes were focused.(2) Across-wind load characteristic and wind induced vibration effect of single high-risebuilding were researched. Wind tunnel test study on single high-rise buildings were discussedin detail, a rigid model with a geometric length scale of1:250was made, wind directionvaried from0°to360°with increments of15°, the across-wind loads and wind-induced vibration responses were analyzed. Wind load of orthogonal angle were calculated by Chinesecode, the results of wind tunnel test and Chinese code were compared.(3) Across-wind load characteristic and wind induced vibration effect of group high-risebuilding were researched. Wind tunnel test study on group high-rise buildings was discussedin detail, a rigid model with a geometric length scale of1:400was made, wind directionvaried from0°to360°with increments of10°, the mean and fluctuating wind pressures of theorthogonal angle were researched, the across-wind loads and wind-induced vibrationresponses were analyzed. Wind load of orthogonal angle were calculated by Chinese code, theresults of wind tunnel test and Chinese code were compared.(4) Pseudo-excitation method was introduced into the analysis of across-wind vibrationresponse of high-rise building. The basic principle and process of pseudo excitation methodwere introduced. Along-and across-wind vibration responses of0°wind angle of single andgroup high-rise building were calculated. The results calculated by pseudo-excitation methodand wind tunnel test(power spectrum method) were compared to verify accuracy ofpseudo-excitation method. The high modes contribution to across-wind vibration response ofsingle and group high-rise building were discussed.
