The thermal power generator coordination between generators and grid is a researchfield of multi-disciplinary. It mainly researches the coordination between thermal powergenerator and power grid. Thus, it maintains the stability of power system voltage andfrequency. Frequency is an important indicator of power system operation and control.Maintaining the stability of grid frequency is one of the main tasks of the power systemcontrol and it is important research about coordinating generators with electricalnetwork. This paper introduces the background and significance of thermal power generatorcoordinating generators with electrical network, and analyzes the difficulty of the topic.Besides, it mainly introduced the basic principles and features of grid frequency controlmeasures which combined with the power system frequency characteristics. Finally,Based on these studies, the paper do some research as follows:(1)The primary frequency regulation capability is limited due to a small heat storagecapacity of once-through boiler and lagging response. To solve these problems, asimulation platform based on stimulative simulation system is built. Using this platformimproved control strategies for primary frequency regulation are presented. Introducingfuel and water flow differential feed forward signal and condensate cost-saving measuresmake up for the lack of boiler heat storage. The simulation result shows that the controlstrategy effectively improves the speed and stability of primary frequency. The platformprovides a reliable basis for Improvement of primary frequency control strategy in theonce-through generating unit. It has certain significance.(2)Aiming at the problem that power imbalance leads to large grid frequencyfluctuations under the isolated network operation condition, isolated grid frequencycontrol strategies are studied based on the depth understanding of isolated networkfrequency characteristics. By analyzing the simulation test, this paper proves that thesetting of the adjustable deviation coefficient is important for the power systemfrequency stability and the grid frequency can be restored to the nominal frequencythrough secondary frequency. It has certain reference value for the future research.
