Abstract:With the development of the metallurgical, petrochemical and Mine industry etc, increasing numbers of mechanical equipments have been worked in high temperature and extreme pressure environment. To satisfy the needs for high temperature and extreme pressure conditions, calcium sulfonate complex-titanium based composite grease was prepared by introducing titanium thickening clusters into calcium sulfonate complex base grease, and by adding nano WS2/MoS2particles gain a high performance nanometer calcium sulfonate complex-titanium based composite grease.Dispersible uniformity of WS2/MoS2complex nanoparticles in calcium sulfonate complex-titanium based composite grease was studied by SEM analyze and surface scan. It was found that the dispersing effect of nanoparticles in grease was not so well by traditional mechanical agitation or ultrasonic method, while after surface modification treatment under compound action of hign power ultrasonic and ball-milling stir, then added into grease, the nanoparticles can be evenly dispersed in the grease.The effect of nano WS2/MoS2particles on tribology properties of calcium sulfonate complex-titanium based composite grease was analyzed by four-ball tribology tests. The results show that the calcium sulfonate complex-titanium based composite grease has the best tribology properties when its WS2/MoS2complex nanoparticles content is1.5wt%, in this case, the maximum non-seizure load is1323N, sintering load is over6370N, increased by26%and more than30%respectively. And the grease has better tribology properties when the mass ratio of nano-WS2to nano-MoS2is3:1.The tribology properties of calcium sulfonate complex-titanium based composite grease under multi engineering conditions was analyzed by extreme pressure and antiwear testing and high temperature bearing bench testing. The results indicate that under low temperature and low load condition, WS2/MoS2compelx nanoparticles has insignificant effects on grease; while under high temperature and high load condition, WS2/MoS2compelx nanoparticles could significantly improve the tribological performance of grease and prolonging service life.
