Ozone is highly unstable,readily reverting to the benign form oxygen,and it hasstrong oxidation and sterilization ability. The most common method of ozonegeneration is the dielectric barrier discharge,named as DBD method.With thedevelopment of economy and the progress of science, the application of ozone isbecoming increasingly widespread. Based on the relevant field of power electronicstechnology, the mechanism of DBD type efficient ozone generator is studied in thepaper.Firstly, this paper briefly introduces the characteristics, the related application aswell as several important manufacture methods of ozone. Through the comparisonbetween domestic and foreign present states, the rationality of taking advantage ofhigh—frequency and high-voltage inverter is represented.In addition, this papermainly studies the DBD type highly efficient ozone generator, which also indicate thebasic principle of dielectric barrier discharge and the electrode structure, and putforward the general principle diagram of the equivalent circuit.Secondly, due to the medium material has a vital role when producing the ozonegenerator, therefore the dielectric constant, dielectric loss, resistivity, mechanicalproperties, compression strength, thermal conductivity and dielectric layer thicknessand so on are studied in this article, so as to satisfy the requirement of themanufacture of the highly efficient ozone generator.In consideration of the ozone production will increase when the discharge poweris in a state of high frequency, and the load has capacitance characteristics, therefore,a high frequency power supply is used based on the study of ozone generator. In thehigh frequency state, the series resonant circuit is formed between the load and theleakage inductance of the boost transformer. By classifying and comparing the loadresonance source inverter, using the voltage source inverter is more conductive to improve the working efficiency of the inverter, so as to increase ozone production.The control mode of inverter is also studied in this paper. By comparing the directcurrent power regulation and the inverter power regulation, as well as the pulsedensity modulation and the pulse width modulation, ultimately determine to put intouse the inductive PWM mode which phase-locked of the current passing zero.Finally, through the simulation and analysis of the rectifier and filter circuit,aswell as the PWM inverter circuit, so as to obtain the simulation model graph of themain circuit of the ozone generator. Through the calculation and setting of the internalparameters of each module, ultimately using MATLAB simulation, then thesimulation results are obtained.
