Forms of traditional residential in every region were summarized. 2. The forms of typical traditional residential in every region have been classified and categorized based on their building materials and methods of construction.3. The thermal performances of the building materials and heat transfer property of the building envelope were calculated based on the collected information and the simplified residential models. The thermal performances of traditional residential envelope were compared in both a horizontal way and a vertical way.4. Energy-saving recommendations for traditional residential and new residential were provided based on the research results.
