As the step of smart grid construction speeds up, up to tens of billions RMB is spent annually in the purchase, transportation and installation of large power transformer in our country. Transportation safety is the prerequisite for normal operation of large transformers, so the transportation of large power equipment, especially large and very large power equipment, requires strict driving speed, impact vibration, air pressure, tilt level, and so on.In terms of transportation safety of large transformer, a transportation vibration model based on the vehicle-body parameters, road level, driving speed, and vertical vibration acceleration was deduced, and a prediction model of impact allowed value before and during transportation was also provided. In addition, on the base of intelligent sensor, the Internet, the Android, and the Web technologies, a set of real-time system to monitor large transformer transport had been developed by cooperating with BeiJing TCD technology Co., LtD., which achieved the real-time warming function and improved the present situation of closed monitoring.Specific work of this study reads as follows:(1) Reasons for potential safety hazard of large power equipment caused by transport were analyzed and present monitoring methods for large power transformer transport in the world were introduced. According to these, an on-road monitoring system had been designed.(2)The overall structure of this system was expounded including its composition function,.(3)Aiming at the special requirements of transport and features of ZigBee technology, a unique network strategy and the communication protocol between the various modules was designed, at the same time, the implementation processes were described in detail.(4)The hardware circuit design of the system was accomplished, mainly including peripheral circuit of the processor, voltage regulator circuit, ZigBee wireless communication circuit, sensor data acquisition circuit, etc., and the related device parameters and design features were illustrated.(5)The software process of the whole system was designed. The communication protocol between the various modules was made and the main function of each module was explained.(6)For transportation safety of large transformer, a transportation vibration model based on the vehicle-body parameters, road level, driving speed, and vertical vibration acceleration was deduced, and a prediction model of impact allowed value before and during transportation was also provided.The function interface of monitoring center of the monitoring system was introduced, and the monitoring results were analyzed and discussed.Until now since the initial implementation of the whole system, the system was continuously improved and had been implicated successively in the actual transport process of large transformer for some manufacturers, such as Tianwei Electric Co., Ltd., Xian XD Transformer Co., Ltd., TBEA Shenyang Transformer Group Co., Ltd., etc., and the vibration model have been tested by the measured data,. So far, the system has been operating well, and it has been checked and accepted by Science and Technology Department of Shanxi Province in March2014.Also, the technological achievements has been identified to reach the international advanced level.
