Distributed Control System is one of the major critical equipment in nuclear powerplant, which plays an important role to ensure the safe, reliable and stable operation ofnuclear power plant. With the increasing input rate of DCS, it becomes more and moreinportant to apply simulation technology in nuclear power plant. Stimulative simulationis a new simulation model formed by the development of simulation technology andDCS technology. Compared to the traditional simulation technology, it is more effective,efficient and economic. Faced with the complexity of control system and the variety ofequipment suppliers, this major research work will focus on how to create a reliable andeffective communication among differert equipments, and how to reduce softwaredevelopment cycle and improve the efficiency, this is also the point to introduce OPCtechnology. OPC is a series of interface specifications used in process control industry, itbuilds up a bridge between the hardware suppliers and software developers, which makesit possible that the software developers can just concern with processes controlling andfunction realization, and ignore the differences among hardwares. This paper developedthe OPC client software based on Visual C++6.0, and then used in digital control systemof nuclear power plant, to bulid up a flexible, efficient and open monitoring system ofnuclear power plant.
