ABSTRACT:V-tooth coupling consists of two meshing V-tooth disk, which transmits torque by connecting shaft or rotary parts. V-tooth is widely used in high-speed and heavy-duty equipments, such as turbine engine, gas turbine and diesel locomotive. Currently, the design of V-tooth disk primarily references to the series of standards and experience, which can’t meet the needs of different conditions. So, as the background of high-speed blowers and gas compressor, the geometrical parameter calculation, strength analysis, fatigue analysis of center rod and grinding processing of V-tooth disk are studied in this paper. The contents are as follows.(1) The method of geometrical parameter calculation of V-tooth disk is provided. The method of geometrical parameter calculation of V-tooth disk is proposed, which is based on the design of cylindrical gear. The finite element model of V-tooth disk is built. And contact stress and bending stress are analyzed.(2) The method of strength analysis of V-tooth disk is provided. Analytical method and finite element analysis method are built in the cases of preload and without preload respectively.(3) The law of main micro parameters influence on the strength of V-tooth disk is analyzed. The main micro parameters include large end diameter, end profile angle and number of teeth.(4) The fatigue analysis of center rod of V-tooth disk is studied. The computing method of center rod is built. The finite element model of center rod is built. The fatigue life of center rod is analyzed.(5) The design process of V-tooth disk is given. V-tooth disk, meeting the needs of strength, is designed based on load torque.(6) The grinding processing of V-tooth disk is studied. The method of grinding V-tooth disk is analyzed by using disk wheel. The motion equation is derived through the mathematical model of machine. Meanwhile, NC processing program is gotten, and is verified through the simulation system. (7) Complete the test of grinding processing V-tooth disk. Through the method of grinding V-tooth disk, the test is done on YMC850B CNC machine to verify the correctness of the method.
