Study On The Innovative Design Of Edge Space Of Urban Park

Abstract:In an era of Urban park which opens its door to the public freely, it’s the inevitable trend for the development of park that the edge space of the park becomes open instead of being closed, the innovative design of the park edge space has gradually become a new focus of landscape designing. Park edge space has multiple spatial attributes and very complex functions.lt is a transition space which contains a rich amount of information,it lies in between the park land and its surrounding urban land, and it’s a space which has various types of activities and where the visitors willing to stay.This paper take the innovation design of urban park edge space as the research object, It defines the content of the park edge space firstly,analyzes the basic characteristics and component factors, expounds the consistency of the park edge space and behavior space, It also demonstrates the design of park edge space from the point of human behavioral psychology.Then,this paper carries out an on-the-spot investigation of innovation design for seven city parks’ edge space and makes a detail analysis to the various forms of edge space, discusses the advantages and disadvantages of different kinds of park edge space, generalizes the experience of innovation design for the park edge space, And then makes a conclusion of three main design patterns in the innovation design of park edge space.Based on the theoretical analysis and on-the-spot investigation,this paper proposes a method of classification design. It’s very necessary to make classified research due to the close relationship between park edge space innovation design and its surrounding land spatial attributes,different function-oriented edge space has different design emphasis. This paper analyzes three common types of space which are surrounded by park edge space:buildings, roads, natural elements, it carries out classification design research through four types of model of edge space which are recreation oriented,business activities oriented, ecological landscape oriented, traffic oriented,thus it not only makes a fuctional integration of edge space of the park,but also makes a tailor made design method and contributes valuable experience of innovation design for edge space of the parks in China.
