The threat of fire is the main form of public safety, brought significant losses countries and people each year. Currently, the structure after fire damage assessment and appraisal of research is not enough, and the effect of the durability and seismic performance of buildings and other structures after fire is not deep enough. In the detection and evaluation projects, testing methods and the complexity of the fire damage is always incompatible, so that damage assessment and appraisal after the fire is too simple and not comprehensive. Therefore, the research of detection and rehabilitation after fire damaged of the building structure are of great significance. On the basis of existing research, summarizes some detection methods and means which are commonly used nowadays, such as the visual method, rebound, ultrasonic method, core drilling method, and analyzes their advantages and disadvantages and their scope. Finally, the author applied the results of the research into practice as an example. the paper mainly do the following:(1) For the fire damage to the bridge structure, the paper using a variety of detection methods on-site inspection, has made more field data, provides the appropriate data base for subsequent damage judgment;(2) Surmising the scene investigation and test results and analyzing it, received the corresponding damage rating of the structure.(3) Summarizes the existing fire repair and reinforcement method, combined with the actual situation of the project component damage, given the reasonable repair and reinforcement proposal.
