As a new lateral force resisting element, the advantages of steel plate shear wall is mainly reflected in the large initial stiffness, good ductility, high carrying capacity and so on. A series of vertical slits is opened on the steel plate shear walls(namely steel plate shear walls with slits)will have a great influence on the mechanical properties, A large number of experimental study and finite element simulation are made on the steel plate shear walls with slits by domestic and foreign scholars and part application in engineering. Studies have shown that:Through the vertical slits are opened not only can make the wall has good mechanical performance, also the stiffness can be adjusted conveniently, at the same time has the advantages of cost savings.On the basis of forefathers’research, firstly, the feasibility of ADINA finite element software is verified in this article, then the mechanical performance of steel plate shear wall with slits is studied with stiffener and prevent buckling outside the plane. Also the mechanical performance of steel plate shear wall with variable slits is studied in this article, the better opening slits method is put forward. The work is done are as follows1.A piece of steel shear wall with slits with the same size of completed experiment is established through the ADINA finite element software, the load is applied on it with the same of test, the date is extracted to compare with test date, part finite element calculation results are found to be bigger than the test date, but the tendency of the hysteresis curve is basically same to the test date. In turn the feasibility of ADINA finite element software is verified.2.Three types of shear wall model as no reinforced steel shear wall with slits、reinforced steel shear wall with slits and steel shear wall with slits with outside plane prevent buckling, the influence of mechanical performance under three kinds of different thickness are analyzed. They are studied mainly from three aspects:1)Modal analysis;2)The hysteretic curve and skeleton curve under reciprocating load are extracted, the influence of stiffer, outside plane prevent buckling and thickness on the initial stiffness, yield load, energy dissipation coefficient and ultimate bearing capacity are analyzed comparably;3)the stress nephogram and strain nephogram of models are extracted, the yield area, failure forms and the location of the damage occurred in the first place are compared and analyzed detailedly. 3.Three types of steel shear wall with variational slits are established through ADINA finite element software, modal analysis are carried out under the action of gravity, the hysteretic curve and skeleton curve under reciprocating load are extracted, and)the stress nephogram and strain nephogram of models are analyzed, better slit opening method are found through comparing. The influence of stiffer and outside plane prevent bucking on steel shear wall with slits are researched.
