There are testing equipments of automotive wheels, but they are usually big andbulky, not easy to carry, and are greatly restricted by using occasions. According tothe above issues, the subject studied the mechanism of the Portable car wheeldetector.The topic based on the portable car wheel detector, studied the mechanism of thedetector as follows:(1) The structure design of the portable car wheel detector;(2) Basing on the three-dimensional software Pro/e, it modeled and virtualassembled the detection system;(3) Basing on the finite element software Ansys Workbench, it simulated thestiffness, strength and stability of the important structures.Through the above study, the following conclusions could be inferred:(1) It had applicated a national invention patent (application number:CN201310028079.4) for the positioning and clamping device of the portableautomotive wheel detector;(2) The function targets and the performance targets all met the designrequirements;(3) It could train the maintenance workers to correctly install the detector,specified the installing standard of the detector, and it had be ready for the reasonableresults;(4) The stability of the rotating cylinder, the strength of the stud holder, thestiffness of the stud all met the requirements of the design.The research had a certain significance to the research and development ofportable testing equipment.
