There have been several incidentsoccurred to this form of bridge and how to ensure the normal use of the bridge operatorsbecome an urgent problem.. This paper focuses on points of stabilities against overturningof single column pier curved bridge and made a scrutiny into its influencing factor. So avariety of factors have been analyzed about mechanical changes of camber beam and tofind its effect on the overturning performance.Firstly, this paper explores the mechanical characteristic of curved bridge, thecurrent research, as well as the problems of such bridges in operating and demonstrated thenecessary of this research topic. In addition theoretical methods of curved bridge have beenelaborated and put forward various factors that may affect its performance againstoverturning.Secondly, through the engineering examples, this paper use The finite elementsoftware MIDAS CIVEL to make computational analysis to identify the curved bridgebearing void law.The pre-eccentric bearing, bearing spacing, moving load, bearing form,and temperature effects, etc. factors are discussed in detail to find out their effect onoverturning of curved bridge.
