A2×600MW subcritical direct air cooling unit in certain Power Company in Inner Mongolia allocate ZGM113G coal mill, which is an independently exploited kind of product that with introducing foreign technology in the early times. This paper first analyzed the structure and characteristics of ZGM113G type pulverizers, found out that this kind of coal mill have some technical defects in actual operation, which may have great effect on the security and economy of operating units. Then these problems existed in the process of practical running of ZGM113G coal mill were analyzed and studied. With the practical situation of this type of mill into consideration, nozzle ring, loading type and transmission hub sealing structure of the coal mill were modified. At last, a test was preceded on the reformed mill. Field test results show that the implementation of transformation programs can not only solve part of the problems of ZGM113G type pulverizers, but also improve the entire milling system and boiler unit safe and stable economy operation, along with high economy, security and environmental benefits.
