Primary and secondary schools, because of the user’s ability to protect themselves poor and a more intensive use of the crowd, making it a special disaster buildings. At present,China’s primary and secondary schools in a large part of masonry homes built earlier era, the majority of the existence of low seismic category, structure, selection irrational, many problems and poor quality of construction. After2008Wenchuan earthquake, the reinforcement of masonry buildings problem is widespread attention. In recent years, seismic isolation technology as a method of reinforcing a structural engineering practice test and showed good seismic effect is getting people’s attention and research.In this paper, a five-story masonry structures primary school teaching building, the use of traditional reinforcement methods were established SAP2000, isolation reinforcement method analysis model.Application process analysis, comparison of the two methods under the upper structure reinforcement modal information, the base shear size of the translational acceleration, layer displacement, floor twist angle and shear stress map. Conclusion:Compared to traditional reinforcement method, using isolated reinforcement method, the structure of the phase characteristic period extended three times, the floor about75%reduction in the base shear, translational acceleration value reduced by70%, the story drift, floor twist angle is almost negligible. Shear stress maps show that the isolation reinforcement methods, teaching building of the door and window openings at no greater stress, while traditional reinforcement method will have to pay particular attention to the reinforcement at the door and window openings.Isolation isolation layer in conjunction normal maintenance parts, replacement space requirements needed to give a reasonable structural design to ensure that part of the building isolation rare earthquake occurred under large deformation when its movement is not obstructed.Isolation layer smooth construction of the key issues is how to effectively place the isolator to a predetermined position, and ensure that the isolator can be firmly with superstructure and substructure connections, are discussed in this article.
