| For gear transmission system, gear’s transmission performance will affect thewhole transmission system’s performance, service life and so on. Gear’s transmissionperformance includes meshing force, vibration and so on. Spiral bevel gear is widelyused for it’s good bearing capacity, low noise, steady transmission, compact structureand so on. Spiral bevel gear consists of face milled spiral bevel gear and face hobbedspiral bevel gear. While these two kinds of spiral bevel gears are widely used in ourcountry, people do not know the specific difference between them very well. Thisarticle, according to the gear meshing theory and the theory about gear transmission,studies a pair of face milled spiral bevel gears and a pair of face hobbed spiral bevelgears which have the relative basic parameter and the almost same contact area underfive different working conditions. The main studying content follows.1ã€The pre process of finite element contact analysis of spiral bevel gear wasstudied. In this course, the way to mesh the spiral bevel gear, the performance of themesh and the efficiency of meshing was improved. The problem that the spiral bevelgear’s static finite element contact analysis is difficult to converge was resolved, andtwo useful ways were stated.2〠The ways to calculate the spiral bevel gear’s meshing stiffness andtransmission error according to the finite element static contact analysis were studied.And the specific steps of the ways were stated.3ã€The way to calculate the spiral bevel gear’s meshing strike according to thefinite element dynamic contact analysis was studied. And the specific steps werestated. The condition that the spiral bevel gear does not have obvious meshing strikewas found.4ã€The difference between the face contact ratio, the meshing stiffness, meshingstrike, transmission error, gear root bending stress and face contact stress of facemilled and face hobbed spiral bevel gear was studied under five different workingconditions, and the relevant conclusion were stated.5ã€The dynamic response analysis of the face milled and face hobbed spiral bevelgear were done under the condition that the internal excitation which is compoundedby the meshing stiffness, meshing strike and transmission error was used as the import.And the two kinds of spiral bevel gear’s vibration frequency and vibration intensity were contrasted.
