With the development of science and technology, natural resources andthe environment on the earth can’ t afford our human’ s demand in the future. Thus, some countries are ready for technology of interstellar travel. However, there is about4light-year away between here and the closeststar. And it will take eighty thousand years for the fastest rocket onthe earth to get there. So we need a breakthrough theory. Warp drive isa one of the typical theories to try to realize super luminal travel. Thetheory has many advantages when applied to interstellar flight, forexample, the spaceship in the warp bubble can be prevented from specialrelativity effect and tidal forces effect. However, if we want to realizeit, the one of the most important problems is that a large quantity ofnegative energy is needed. In this paper, from the point of modifiedgravity, we investigate the amount of the negative energy in various valuerange of different parameters. It is hard to reduce the amount of negativeenergy effectively using the existing cosmological feasible model. The chapter one in this thesis introduces the background and goal ofwarp drive. In chapter two, we state some basic ideals and nature aboutthe warp drive. In chapter three, we first introduce some methods ofslightly solving the negative energy problem and then analyze the problemfrom view of modified gravity. At last, in chapter four, we conclude somebrief conclusions and look into the future.
