With the improvement of living standards, home security and home convenient caused more and more people’s attention. Smart home system will be home appliance equipment and safety equipment of the family for centralized control and management in order to meet people’s various needs. This paper adopts the Linux2.6.28kernel and S3C6410processor to design a smart home controller based on embedded Linux, the mobile, PC and the handheld devices can control it to realize basic control function of the household.Smart home controller is an essential component of a smart home control system. Smart home controller includes smart wireless home terminal nodes, smart wireless control nodes and the S3C6410microprocessor. This paper firstly explains the hardware design of smart home controller in detail. Secondly, it introduces the characteristics and the migration process of the embedded Linux system, emphatically introduces the function and software implementation about the GSM/GPRS module, the WiFi module, the Zigbee module and the network interface. Finally, it understands the principle of operation of Linux serial’s driver application, using the Qt development completed interface programming of the touch screen, realizing the visualization operation of smart home controller.This paper is that using the PC set up the software debugging test platform of the smart home controller, verified all design goals of this system successfully and proved the feasibility and reliability of this system.
