In recent years, the competition in domestic automobile industry is intensifyingwith its rapid development. In order to enhance their competitiveness, many domesticautomobile manufacturers choose to make improvement in the product design andR&D period. Usually, they tend to carry out a specific secondary development of theplatform software used for the design of their own products and build a customizedstandard part library for the enterprise to improve the design efficiency of newproducts and reduce the costs of production and R&D.This paper, based on the enterprise horizontal project—CATIA-based SoftwareDevelopment of Auto Brake Oil Tank and on the platform of CATIA V5, makesanalysis and research about the flow of the fluid in Auto Brake Oil Tank and FailureDetection Theory. It also builds a standard part library of Brake Oil Tank on the basisof CATIA parametric design theory. The main research work and innovation of thepaper are as follows:1. The paper, based on the VOF model of FLUENT multiphase flow models,presents a simulated analysis of the flow of the fluid in Auto Brake Oil Tank underdifferent acceleration and draws the angles of inclination of liquid from thesimulation results in which the liquid is relatively stable. Then, it proves therationality of the simulation results through comparing the angles of inclination withthose from the enterprise experimental data.2. The paper, on the basis of Basic structure schematic diagram of Auto BrakeOil Tank, puts forward a more detailed division method of the inner volume of BrakeOil Tank. Furthermore, by using the platform of CATIA V5, it presents methods ofstatic detection, dynamic detection and single lumen failure detection of Brake OilTank and developed detection software of Brake Oil Tank based on the method.Then,it proves the feasibility of the detection methods through actual operation of thesoftware.3. The paper analyses CATIA parametrization design theory, and establishes astandard part library of Brake Oil Tank on the basis of the theory. It also introducesthe rapid assembly method of the standard part and the tank.The paper makes a relatively deep research on the analysis theory of failuredetection of Auto Brake Oil Tank and presents original failure detection methods ofBrake Oil Tank, which could provides theoretical guidance for the design of Auto Brake Oil Tank. It will be useful in this field.
